Covers Mammoth Like The Snow

In spite of the first significant storm of the season, skiers, snowboarders, cross-country skaters and the rest of the winter throng are staying home in droves this weekend and next week.
That means the slopes of Mammoth Mountain will once again be a kind of locals’ paradise, as will the aisles at Vons.

The town will be only 30 percent full, according to figures put together by the lodging industry and delivered to Laurie Medove of the town’s visitors’ bureau.
In an email distributed on Thursday, Dec. 1, she said the town occupancy on Sunday through Thursday, Dec. 8, shows just 26 percent full.
