Go to Lakefront for beautiful views of Twin Lakes and the back side of Mammoth Mountain. Go there for Mammoth’s most romantic dining atmosphere. Finally, go there for some of the highest quality cuisine available this side of the Rockies. Behind a heavy French accent, Head Chef Frederic Pierrel has developed a menu revered by the L.A. Times, Bon Appetit and Sunset Magazine. Barbra Streisand stops by four times a year. Locals come here to splurge over specialties like peppered Elk Medallions served with juniper and wild blueberry sauce, Wild Mushroom Strudel (prepared with local mushrooms), and organically farm-raised caviar, which they claim to be the first of its kind in California. There is also a small bar serving fine French and California wines, cocktails and an array of ports. This is a small restaurant and one of Mammoth’s finest, so make reservations early and prepare to be impressed.
