The Austria Hof has a happy hour claim that few others can make. After a day of skiing, you can ski right to the building from Canyon Lodge, click off your skis, walk upstairs and have a beer in hand. Besides for the après ski possibilities, the Austria Hof has one of the most extensive German and Austrian menus in Mammoth. Bratwurst, wiener schnitzel and veal plates dominate the cuisine, while other worldy plates like filet mignon medallions and pasta primavera will please everyone. They also have a fun little pizza selection, as well as a create-your-own pizza which could be the best bargain on the menu. In addition, a fine selection of German and Austrain beers will keep the over-21 set content and the chocolate soufflé should cater to the whole family. For a great meal within walking distance of Canyon Lodge, Austria Hof may be the best bet.
