Who is Bump Diamond?
He's elusive, everyone knows that much. And we found one of his Vons lists recently. It had rice noodles, pad thai sauce, miso soup, bagged salad and Mammoth Brewing Co.'s Double Nut Brown.

Welcome Back, Everybody!

November 10, 2005

Man About Town

A guy gets used to the shoulder season around here—no traffic, no lines anywhere for anything and, in fact, no people except local people who know each other.
That all changes this week, according to Laurie Medov of the Visitors Bureau.  Laurie says the hotel and lodging folks are projecting 40 percent occupancy in the town this weekend, no doubt owing to the fact that the Mammoth Mountain Ski Area is open as of today.
Of course, there are other things going on, too, and they're all listed below:

    Friday night 11/11/05 - Saturday night 11/12/05 = 40%
    Sunday night 11/13/05 - Thursday night 11/17/05 = 17%
