“Magic Mountain” About To Do It Again
Blasting through snow at the Bike Park

Man About Town
For ages, the poohbahs at Mammoth Mountain configure the mountain in such trying circumstances that it kind of defies belief.
Last month, for example, when the National Ski Championships were going on, Mammoth Mountain operations personnel did such a good job keeping the ski races going—in spite of huge snowfalls—that operations chief Clifford Mann merely shrugged and said,
“That’s why we call it ‘Magic Mountain.’”
Well, “Magic Mountain” is about to do it again.
Under the direction of Bike Park chief Dave Geirman, the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park is going to use huge snowblowers and other ski equipment this month and next to blast open mountain bike trails as fast as possible, CEO Rusty Gregory said this week.
So, while skiing is ongoing on the upper part of the hill, don’t freak out with what’s going on at the bottom.
Just part of the same-ol’ same-ol’ to hear them talk about it.
