Eastside Velo Announces Ride Schedule

    The Eastside Velo Club, Mammoth's road cycling club, announced its season schedule today, opening with a May 1 ride at Millpond and ending with the Sept. 10 Fall Century.
    In between, the club announced a May 14 "Your Beneath the Peaks" in 30, 50 and 100-mile segments, as well as its July "Pie-in-the-Sky" club ride to Rock Creek Lakes Resort, featuring Sue King's slices at the top of the hill.
    In additiion, the club announced several changes in organization for the upcoming season.
    Organized in a new, non-profit configuration, the president of Eastside Velo is John Armstrong.
    Tom Slocum has been named treasurer and liaison with USA Cycling and US Cycling Federation. The Velos is a registered club with these organizations and has general liability coverage.   
    Alex Fabbro has taken responsibility for the ride calendar while Dave Thompson is leading the sponsorship program as well as heading up the uniform purchase process.
