Members of eight U.S. Ski Teams have been using Mammoth this week to train for next season.
"They like to come to Mammoth in the spring because they know we'll have snow," said Mammoth Mountain spokesperson Joani Lynch.
The teams, which included Europa Cup racers, develpment teams racers and some members of the World Cup team enjoyed good spring conditions.
The racers ski in the morning, then go to Shady Rest Park for dryland training, Lynch said.
The development teams will continue to train in Mammoth throughout the weekend, with one notable exception.
Bode Miller, the most successful and arguably the most controversial member of the team, is not in Mammoth and one of his coaches said he had quit the team.
Miller, an 11-year-member of the U.S. Ski Team, announced earlier this month that he would not compete in another Olympics (2010 Vancouver), and the coach said Miller plans to race independently on the World Cup circuit next season.
