June Mountain Ski Area closed for the season on Sunday, Jan. 28, because of a lack of snow, resort officials announced on Saturday.
"The three-to-eighteen inch base and the ten trails June Mountain currently has open are no longer providing a quality experience for visitors, forcing resort operators to make this difficult decision," said resort spokesperson Dana VanderHouwen.
She said season passes for June Mountain will be taken at Mammoth for the rest of the season.
She said there is no chance of the resort re-opening.
"The late snowfall this season, coupled with the fact that most employees will likely leave the area, means June will not re-open this season, even if there is a radical improvement in the snow conditions."
