Permits to cut and remove Christmas trees are now available from the Bureau of Land Management and the Inyo National Forest.
Cutting areas, permit prices and regulations are the same as in previous years.
The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest has once again opened the Bridgeport Ranger District for Christmas tree cutting. Permits for that area are available at the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitors Center, the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center and the White Mountain Ranger Station.
For the Bureau of Land Management, the tree removal area is near Lida, Nevada and an area near Benton, California. Permits are available from the White Mountain Ranger Station, which is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Scenic Area Visitors Center is open Thursday through Monday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. until December 4th after which it will be closed for the season. The Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Additional information about Christmas tree cutting areas can be obtained from the White Mountain Ranger Station at 760-873-2500.
