On one of the biggest weekends of the season Jan. 11-13, people crowded onto Cloud 9 Express, formed long lines at the McCoy Station gondola, filled the lunch tables and bars, skied, rode snowboards, skated at the new ice rink, watched football and generally had a great time on good snow.

Already officials at the Mammoth Visitors Bureau say that occupancy for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend on Jan, 18-20 is at 61 percent, and town cognoscenti project a near sellout for the weekend.
This week, occupancy was to fall to 36 percent in the weekdays before bouncing back up for the weekend.
The mid-weekers are getting great conditions.
The National Weather Service in Reno continued to call for warm, sunny days through next weekend.
The full forecast is as follows:
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 46. West wind between 5 and 10 mph.
Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19. West wind around 10 mph.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44. West wind around 10 mph becoming north.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 17. North wind around 10 mph.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 38. North wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 16.
Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 41.
Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 41.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 17.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 44.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 19.
Sunday: A slight chance of snow. Partly cloudy, with a high near 39.
