Mammoth Is Interesting
Big Weekends Coming Up
by Mammoth Local Staff

On one of the biggest weekends of the season Jan. 11-13, people crowded onto Cloud 9 Express, formed long lines at the McCoy Station gondola, filled the lunch tables and bars, skied, rode snowboards, skated at the new ice rink, watched football and generally had a great time on good snow.

There's more coming.

Already officials at the Mammoth Visitors Bureau say that occupancy for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend on Jan, 18-20 is at 61 percent, and town cognoscenti project a near sellout for the weekend.

This week, occupancy was to fall to 36 percent in the weekdays before bouncing back up for the weekend.

The mid-weekers are getting great conditions.

The National Weather Service in Reno continued to call for warm, sunny days through next weekend.
