Another nice refuge from the blistery weather, McCoy Station (formerly Mid-Chalet) was the first of Mammoth's eating facilities to receive a facelift. Like other food courts around the mountain, it offers an eclectic variety of culinary styles, including what some call the best Kung-Pao Chicken in Mammoth. Located mid-mountain, the only access to McCoy is via the gondola (from Main Lodge) or on skis from a variety of other areas on the mountain. Because of its convenient ski-in, ski-out access, it gets wildly crowded around noon on busy weekends. The Steeps Bar (9 a.m.- 4 p.m.), is located near the building's front entrance. It's a fabulous spot for a hot-chocolate and Baileys, and features indoor and outdoor service.
