In the late afternoon, the upstairs is open to everyone, but at 5:30 the under-agers disappear as the place turns into a bar that is one of Mammoth's most venerable. Having said all that, the bar and grill above Whiskey Creek is home to one of the best happy-hour pub and grub fare in town. The food is plentiful and good and the taps feature Mammoth Brewing Co.'s own local brews. But the element that makes this one of the the town's hot spots is the early evening specials. Sometimes there is half price off almost everything in the joint. What that means is a Wasabi Crusted Ahi appetizer, a succulent Certified Angus Filet Mignon Sandwich and a few Golden Trout Ales for under $25. Kids are allowed upstairs during happy hour, but when 5:30 rolls around, Whiskey turns into a big-kids-only venue, and with that comes one of Mammoth's best spot for live music and a great all-around bar experience.
