Big Lineup for July 4 Holiday Week

There's plenty to do and lots to celebrate as Mammoth gears up for a week of Independence Day festivities. Here's the lineup:

July 1
4TH OF JULY TRI AT WHITMORE POOL
TRIATHLON: 500 yard Pool Swim/ 12 mile Road Ride/ 3 mile Trail Run. Starts at 9:00 a.m.
KIDS TRIATHLON: 100 yard Pool Swim/ 2 mile Mountain Bike Ride/ 1 mile Trail Run.

FIDDLIN’ PETE & NEIL GELVIN DINNER CONCERT AT POKONOBE LODGE ON LAKE MARY 6:00 p.m.
Dinner prepared by Wilderness Catering

GREAT AMERICAN” 4TH OF JULY AT THE VILLAGE
Rubber Ducky Race, help decorate the Village in Red, White and Blue in The Village Family Chalk Art Event, 1st Annual Kite Festival and demonstrations, Ann Krasner Art Display, 2nd Annual Vermonster Ice Cream Challenge, a free concert featuring American Rock N’ Roll from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. and at 9:00 p.m. FIREWORKS!

July 2
Ann Krasner Art Display, 1st Annual Kite Festival and demonstrations and a free concert featuring Disco Fever from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

July 3
2ND ANNUAL MAIN STREET BLOCK PARTY 3-10p.m.
Family friendly celebration in Base Camp / P3 parking lot. Live entertainment, food, and beverages. Kids activities.

July 4
MAMMOTH LAKES LIONS CLUB PANCAKE BREAKFAST 7-11A.M.
All you can eat pancakes plus sausage, orange juice & coffee. $6 for adults & $4 for children.
Old Mammoth Road at the Mammoth Mall / Chart House parking lot

4TH OF JULY FOOTLOOSE FREEDOM MILE 10:30a.m.
One mile running race starts at Minaret Rd and Old Mammoth Rd. and goes along the parade route.

INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE 11 a.m.
Starts at Manzanita and Main St. continues on Main St. and makes a right on Old Mammoth Rd.
ending at Chateau Rd.

FAMILY CARNIVAL AT MAMMOTH CREEK PARK 11a.m.
Games, food and beverages and entertainment, following the parade on July 4th until 5:00 p.m. July 5th from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

JULY 4TH BOOK SALE IN CROWLEY 9a.m.-6p.m.
Located at the Crowley Lake Community Center.
Excellent selection in all categories. $2.00 hardbacks, 3 for $2.00 paperbacks.

4TH OF JULY FIRE SAFETY FUN FESTIVAL 12-3p.m.
Located at the U.S. Forest Service on Main St. (Hwy. 203) & Sawmill Cutoff Rd, near Shady Rest Campground. This year the Inyo National Forest is celebrating 100 years of service.
Learn how to be fire safe and have fun doing so with Smokey Bear.

MAMMOTH LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT OPEN HOUSE
Location is the new Fire Department station on Main St. (Hwy 203).

4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR at Crowley Lake 7p.m.
$25.00 per car.Food & entertainment with the Jeff Jones Band starting at 7:00 p.m. Fireworks at dusk.
