Blogging With Team Aguirre

February 2, 2006

I was hanging out at Angel's at lunchtime and in walked Mike and Julie Aguirre, suddenly the two most high-profile parents in Mammoth.

All the talk, of course, was about the Olympic halfpipe team and how Mason Aguirre might fare, but then part of the conversation was how deftly Mike got fellow-Olympian Danny Kass to show up for a sendoff event at Wave Rave on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 2

Also we got to talking about Mike's blog, on which he's going to take us along for the Turin ride. So bookmark that, amigos. He's already got some shots from the X Games (Mason 2d, Danny 10th), and he'll post from Italy as soon he gets there, says he.

He also promises some Internet TV on www.maniatv.com, but that won't come along until later.

Hey speaking of Internet and the Olympics, for my money, NBC's Olympic site is just rockin. We were talking to the MammothLocal people, trying to figure out what something like that might cost, and what we came up with was something along the lines of "Holy Jesus!"

It's going to be important to know the navigation of the site, if for no other reason than Aguirre, Kass and women's halfpipe Mammothist, Kelly Clark, will be competing at 10 a.m., Turin time, so we're not going to get any live TV prolly, unless MSNBC picks it up.

Anyhoo, that's my two cents for now.
