Two Quakes Shake The Eastern Sierra

    Two earthquakes, one of them measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale, shook up the Eastern  Sierra Monday night and Tuesday morning.
    The U.S. Geological Survey described the first temblor, the 3.4, as a "minor quake." It happened at 9:53 p.m. Monday night and was centered 11 miles southwest of Toms Place, 13 miles west-northwest of Round Valley and 14 miles southeast of Mammoth. The location is just to the west of the Hilton Creek fault.
    The second temblor, a 3.2 "micro quake,"  happened at 4:35 a.m. Tuesday and was centered eight miles north-northwest of Olancha and 69 miles south-southeast of Bishop.
