The Mountain Bike Championships At Canyon Lodge

    Veteran mountain bikers who maybe have taken one too many tumbles over the handlebars might be wandering around Main Lodge tomorrow, wondering just where in the heck are the 2005 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships.
    After all, it's hard to misplace over 2,000 riders, which is what Mammoth Mountain expects this weekend.
    The thing is, the venue shifted to Canyon Lodge this year for a couple of reasons. First, have you been in Main Lodge lately?  It looks, um, disassembled, to put it politely; or, to put it another way, construction on the third floor has made it unusable for anything except sawing through a sandwich with a table saw.
    Thus the event this season has moved to Canyon Lodge, which is served by the Village Gondola, which in turn is the second reason for Canyon Lodge.
    The Village at Mammoth is serving as the headquarters hotel for this NORBA-sponsored series of races, and the Village also is holding a number of events on the plaza, such as awards ceremonies and live music.
    So, anyway, here's the sked, and don't tread on me, OK?

Kamikaze Downhill:  All Categories
